What we publish, to read, cite or replicate

Everything we publish has a calculation behind it that can be run again. Here are the indicator releases, the technical notes behind them and the firm’s documents.

Indicator releases

TAPIL and IGIL, every month, on Substack

Each release presents the month’s national figure, its comparison with the same month of the previous year, and what the number does and does not say for public policy. Since the July 2026 release, the indicator is a Kappa product and is published on the firm’s Substack. Releases are written in Spanish.

Read and follow on Substack

The earlier May and June 2026 releases, and the note that introduced the indicator in July 2026, are on Carlos Ospino’s Substack, where they were first published.

Technical notes

Technical notes document the full method and every result. They are written for researchers and technical teams working with the same microdata. There are two series:

  • TAPIL and IGIL, every month. One note per release, with results by geographic domain, standard errors, significance tests and a profile of the population below the poverty line.
  • City notes, every quarter. Labor market, poverty and income inequality in Colombia’s main cities and metropolitan areas, over a rolling year.

Both series are on Kappa’s technical notes page, where they are added as they are published. For the 90 days after publication, each note is under restricted access: you request it from the note itself and access is granted per person. When that period ends, the note becomes public. The notes are in Spanish.
